Colleges FAQs

Is my trip going to be safe?

Absolutely. As a charity, we partner with a fantastic tour operator named Rare Adventures - a social enterprise which takes no profit from publicly raised funds. Rare sort the logistical aspects of the trip such as the flights, accommodation, permits, porters and guides. They are ATOL protected, their safety standards are right up to BS8848 requirements and they even have their own insurance policy: ’Rare Care’. They are the absolute experts in all things logistics and will ensure that every step runs smoothly.

How do I fundraise?

At Childreach, our fundraising department is full of experts in the art of fundraising. With over 30 years of student fundraising between us, we have seen THOUSANDS of fundraising ideas and so we are in a perfect position to offer help and support. We will provide fundraising workshops, constant fundraising support throughout the year and personalised advice and assistance to make sure that you hit your target!

What are the fundraising targets?

The targets vary from trip to trip—and depends largely on what you want the trip to include. We work to ensure these are as low as possible and, because Rare Adventures are not-for-profit, as much money as possible can go to our projects not profits!

We want to go on all the challenges!

Which one is best? They are epic aren’t they! Each one is special in it’s own way. Give Dan a call at Childreach on 02031375500 and he will be more than happy to discuss what challenge is best for your school.

How many people can go on the trip?

As many as you want! To ensure it is cost effective, there will be a minimum group size, but for experiences like these that shouldn’t be a problem!

Can this count towards my Duke of Edinburgh Award?

Yes! By fundraising and spreading the name of Childreach International, we can sign off the 12 month volunteering section of your Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
