What could the challenge look like?
Day 1: London to Calais, cycling distance approx 73miles
On the first day of your epic ride you will escape the busting streets of London for the countryside of Kent. In Rochester you’ll cycle some of the 2007 Tour de France route tackling rolling hills before heading to the white cliffs of Dover and catching the ferry to Calais.
Day 2: Calais to Arras, cycling distance approx 80 miles
The day starts will 10 miles of smooth, flat roads, the route then becomes more undulating as you cycle through the French Countryside. After Lunch there will be some small climbs before you descend into the beautiful French town of Arras.
Day 3: Arras to Compiegne, cycling distance approx 74 miles
After breakfast you’ll continue your cycle south through the region of the Somme and its WW1 battlefields; peaceful green meadows will be studded with the solemn war memorials and cemeteries of the First World War.
Day 4: Compiegne to Paris, cycling distance approx 68 miles
Your last day in the saddle will take you through the forest of Compiegne and the pretty villages on the outskirts of Paris before encountering the hustle and bustle of Parisian streets. From the Lourve you will all ride as a group up the Champs Elysees to the finish the line at the Eiffel Tower. That evening you’ll toast your achievements at a celebratory dinner.
Day 5: Watch the finale of the Tour de France!
On your last day you explore the sights of Paris or head to the Champs Elysees to watch the climax of the Tour de France as it races through the streets of Paris. In the early evening you’ll catch the train back to St Pancras; your bikes will transported back to London and will be waiting for you at the original start point.
