To restore child-rights and empower children to create positive change through community based solutions, ensuring children have improved access to education, protection and healthcare. We will work in communities to develop and demonstrate best practice, engaging and collaborating with key players to take our work beyond the boundaries of our organisation.
2004: Global Development Links (GDL), a volunteer-led organisation, is formed by individuals passionate about international development.
2009: GDL changes its name to Childreach International to reflect its mission of unlocking children's potential.
2009: Childreach Tanzania is founded, led by local staff who understand children’s most pressing local needs.
2010: Childreach International opens an office in India to expand Childreach India’s reach.
2010: Childreach Nepal is born, with a country office being established.
2010: Meera Rafi, Childreach International partner and child rights activist, was recognised as highly commended at the International Service Human Rights Awards. David Milton, former fundraiser at Childreach International, was awarded Best Up and Coming Fundraiser at the Institute of Fundraising National Awards. Childreach International and corporate partner The eaga Trust won the Best Overseas Project award at the Business Charity Awards
2012: Named as one of Britain's 50 Top New Radicals by NESTA and The Observer for our innovative climate change programme.
2013: Joint winner of the £50,000 Ockenden International Prize with our partner Centre for Development for our combined efforts in helping displaced people in Gujarat, India realise their basic rights.
2013: Childreach India opens an office in Bangalore to make a wider impact in India.
2014: Childreach Tanzania win Stars Impact Award and Dr Tshering Lama (Childreach Nepal) names a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum
2015: Action for Brazil's Children Trust becomes a subsidary of Childreach International
2015: Childreach Nepal rises to the challenge of the earthquakes and rebuilds classrooms in Sindhupalchowk
2016: Head of Student Engagemen, Jezebel Horsell, wins International Aid Champion at the Charity Staff and Volunteer Awards.
