| Here at Childreach International we don’t do things by halves. 2010 has been a hugely successful. This is thanks to all our fundraisers and volunteers but also our hard working staff and partners. Many of whom are now award winners!
Childreach International is now accredited by the following:
International Service Human Rights Awards 2010: Highly Commended:
Meera Rafi, Childreach International partner and child rights activist, was recently recognised as highly commended in the 2010 International Service Human Rights Awards.
Meera has demonstrated an unquestionable level of commitment to campaigning for child rights and making them a reality for countless children across India. Working in the Gujarat district in the north, Meera runs Centre for Development (CfD), a Childreach International Project partner working with communities displaced by violence after the deadly Gujarat riots in 2002.
CfD runs Education Centres (pictured below) in the Piplaj settlement, providing children with the opportunity to continue learning and developing in difficult conditions where basic amenities, infrastructures and rights are scarce.
“For us, this is valuable recognition of the cause that CfD has been striving for all these years and the humble work that we have been doing all along. The encouragement and motivation that this recognition gives us is far beyond words.” – Meera Rafi, CfD
The Institute of Fundraising National Awards: Best Up and Coming Fundraiser:
Our Director of Fundraising, David Milton, took home this award.
David’s incredible hard work, tenacity and drive earned him the prestigious award. In the past three years, David has played a core role in the charity’s rapid expansion and success. His active and inclusive fundraising model - Challenge Events - raised over £1.3 million in 2009 and is set to raise over two million pounds by the end of 2010.
"I'm hugely grateful for this award. Challenge Events provide a fun way for young people to get involved with the charity. This would not have been possible without the support of the Childreach International team, as well as all our volunteers!"
The Business Charity Awards: Best Overseas Project:
In 2010, Childreach International and corporate partner, Eaga PLC, won the “Best Overseas Project” award at the prestigious Business Charity Awards for its Futurebuilding programme. This fantastic achievement is testament to Childreach International and Eaga’s relentless hard work over the past two years. The successful partnership worked together alongside local communities in Tanzania, re-building Schools, as part of our Futurebuilding programme.
“Our hard work has been recognised and we look forward to more successful partnerships in the future” – The Childreach International Fundraising Team
