Travelex has donated £750, which will enable the charity and one of its project partners, Dhulikhel Hospital, to fund the provision of First Aid Kits for primary schools in remote rural districts of Nepal, as part of the Dhulikhel Hospital Outreach Project. Travelex’s donation will directly provide 40 First Aid Kits and provide necessary training to school staff; ensuring over 10,000 children have access to basic medical treatment and first aid. Childreach International works directly with communities striving for positive change. By working hand in hand with children and their families the charity provides sustainable solutions, leading to self sufficiency. Through starting small, and then scaling up the most successful programmes into region-wide, or national initiatives, they ensure that their programme expenditure is about as efficient and effective as can be found in the sector. TGBP is Childreach International’s chosen partner for all of their foreign exchange needs. The charity uses Travelex’s international payments network as a timely and cost-effective way to ensure their funds reach project partners and international offices. Travelex’s generous donation has been made in honour of Childreach International’s first Fundraising Ball, “To Children, With Love”, which raised thousands of pounds for the charity’s programmes and projects and celebrated the help it is providing to over 25,000 children worldwide. The ball, which was held at the Camden Centre London, boasts a Bollywood theme in keeping with the opening of international offices in India, Nepal and Pakistan. Guests experienced exotic Asian culture; while raising thousands of pounds for our projects and programmes, giving children worldwide the opportunity to unlock their full potential.
