The award comes after the team completed their first year as Student Fundraising Managers (SFM) for the charity. With an average combined age of just 22, the young team, made up of Ashley Farrell, Sam Mason, Rachel McClenaghan and Paul Doubleday, run Childreach International’s flagship Challenge Events to students across UK. Upon hearing the fantastic news Paul Doubleday, SFM said: “We are so pleased to be nominated for this award. It’s been a real team effort and we are lucky to work with fantastic fundraisers up and down the country. A big thank you to everyone who has given their time and effort to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.” On the National Awards 2011, Geoff Burch comments: “It’s clear that tonight’s winners have been using the very best techniques; particularly in these tough times a good fundraiser needs to be very persuasive and charismatic to get their fair share of the pie. My hearty congratulations go to the winners and I hope that they can inspire everyone to follow their lead.” Funds raised from Challenge Events are supporting projects that have helped over 70,000 children improve their access to health, education, child rights and protection. |
