| Live from Universal Children's Day: It's all about Children for Children |
Today is Universal Children's Day and the Childreach International team is out in force with children in Hackney and Islington, spreading the word about children's rights around the world. So far, the children at St Jude's and St Paul's Primary School, Islington, gave an interesting presentation about children's rights to food. Over the past year, they have been growing their own vegetables, just like children in Ghana, who are working together in our School Farm Project. This was followed by a fantastic and enlightening workshop at Newington Green Primary School, where the children recreated one of our child rights projects in India - The Balsena Initiative. In groups, they discussed the issues and problems they face growing up, and afterwards played a game to demonstrate the issues faced by children in the developing world. This was followed by a brilliant performance by the school's choir, who sang international songs to mark this special day.
If you're in the Stoke Newington area, please come down and join in the celebrations.
