This May, a group of committed fundraisers travelled to James Ole Millya School in Tanzania. Their task: to renovate two classrooms and 14 toilets in just seven days.
The group are part of our Futurebuilding programme which sees volunteers travel to one of our project sites abroad and get involved in the actual building or reconstruction of anything from school classrooms to village water pumps. This way, volunteers get to see the invaluable part they play in the development of the project.
The volunteers, from Canada had a busy week, getting involved in pupil’s English lessons, decorating the newly constructed classrooms, painting educational murals in the buildings and spending time with local community.
Childreach International would like to thank everyone who made this project so successful, including the Mabogini community leaders and villagers for their cooperation, students and staff at James Ole Millya primary, and finally the volunteers from Canada for their tireless hard work during the two week renovation.
Check out their slideshow above and see everything they got up to as Futurebuilders in Tanzania.
