volunteer with Childreach International

At Childreach International we know that not everyone wants to go abroad in order to support a charity and that some people would rather donate their time than money.
Even those of you who feel limited on time can still get involved! If you're working, many companies offer their employees a set number of “charity days” in a year. These are days that you can use to volunteer for a charity of your choice. Why not ask your employer if they run a Charity Volunteer Days initiative today?
So if you have the odd free weekend, evening, or charity volunteer days, then here are some ways you can support Childreach International with more than just your money.

If you want to fundraise with us, give our award-winning fundraising team a call or email and let us know what you'll be getting up too. We can help you along the way and give you t-shirts and other promotional material to help. Email: fundraising@childreach.org.uk or call 0203 137 5500.

Volunteer at festivals

Last year Childreach International had a very successful year of festivals. We took enthusiastic volunteers across the UK to volunteer as stewards, or to help run campaigns and interactive activities a a number of major UK festivals. One of our favourite things about our volunteers supporting us at festivals is that whilst you work hard during your shift – you also get time off to go and enjoy the incredible music and sights that each festival has to offer! Some of our festival highlights this year were Glastonbury, Bestival and Boardmasters. We’re in the process of filling up our festivals calendar for summer 2012 - so for further details and to find out how to get involved, check out our festivals page.
UK Base Challenge Events

Whether you want to participate in an event, or organise your own one – get in touch so that we can support you in your activity, whether that’s through fundraising advice or how to promote your event. Three peaks challenge? Skydive? John O'Groats to Land's End bike ride? Whatever your challenge – the UK is your oyster!

Check out fundraiser Shona's journey from John O'Groats to Land's End.
Organise an event in your community

Whether you would like to organise an event at university, school, in your hometown, or with any club or organisation you are part of – we would love to support you in your endeavor!
If you’re unsure what event you would like to organise then get in touch and we can discuss which ideas would suit you.
If you’ve already got your event planned then let us know and we will be able to provide some hints and tips for how to really maximize it – we might even be able to do a shout out for your event on our website to help publicise, and of course spread the word on our social media! Whether you’re planning a fashion show, music event, sports tournament, quiz night, food sale, bring and buy sale, or anything else – we’ll have some useful advice to boost the event!

Email: fundraising@childreach.org.uk or call 0203 137 5500.

Create an Events Committee

If you love the sound of organising local events but would like to really expand this option then why not create your own events committee! That way you can hold a few events each year – or organise one huge event! A few roles to have on your committee could be President, Secretary, Treasurer – if you wanted some more roles then add a Sponsorship Officer and Publicity and Marketing roles too.
Plus this is an amazing addition to any CV!
If you are interested in being part of a committee then get in touch and we will see if there’s a committee already in your town that you can join!

If you’re doing your Duke of Edinburgh Award, or would like to get started, then we can support you with completing your volunteers section. We can sign off your volunteer hours if you participate in one of the volunteering opportunities listed above. See our DofE page for more details.

Of course, if you have any other volunteering ideas then just get in touch at to discuss with our team. Email: fundraising@childreach.org.uk or call 0203 137 5500.
