Our fundraising staff are on hand to help you meet the volunteering criteria for all levels of the DofE award, with advice and ideas for a wide range of fun and interesting fundraising ideas. For those of you looking to complete the Gold Residential part of your award, we're an official DofE Approved Activity Provider, offering an exciting range of overseas community projects and challenge events that you can get involved with.

Volunteering

One of our volunteersVolunteering is a key part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and as we're an Approved Activity Provider, we can certify all your volunteering activites for one, or all of your DofE award levels.
Volunteering timescales differ for each award, with the bronze award requiring three months of voluntary work, the silver award requiring six months, and the gold award requiring twelve months.

Volunteering for the DofE award can be challenging, but it can also be hugely rewarding, and you'll be able to do it in the knowledge that you're helping thousands of children worldwide.

Residential opportunities

If you're stuck for ideas as to what to do for the residential section of your gold DofE award, then we can help with that too! We have two very unique and exciting ways in which you can meet the residential criteria for Gold - Futurebuilding, and Challenge Events.

FuturebuildingFuturebuilding participants help renovate a school in Tanzania.
Futurebuilding
Our Futurebuilding programme offers you the chance to visit one of our projects in Tanzania or India, and get involved in various projects, from renovating a school to building village water pumps.

Aside from meeting the criteria for the gold residential award level, you'll also be taking part in a truly unfortgettable and rewarding experience. Over a period of ten days, you'll not only see where the money you raise through fundraising goes, but you'll also be actively engaged with, and play an important part in the development of a local community.

Challenge Events

India on Two Wheels event participantsChallenge Event participants take a breather during the India on Two Wheels cycling event.

Another way in which you can meet the criteria for the residential part of the gold award is by taking part in one of our overseas Challenge Events. There's a number of different events to choose from, from climbing up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, to hiking your way through the lush valleys of Nepal to the base camp at Mount Everest. Or if climbing and hiking isn't your thing, why not cycle your way through India on our 'India on Two Wheels' event?

During your event you'll also get to visit one of our project sites, giving you the opportunity to see first-hand the positive changes your fundraising has on local communities.

When it comes to overseas challenge events, we're one of the best out there, and our award-winning fundraising team has successfully sent thousands of people on unforgettable experiences.
