A land of incredible history and culture, Morocco is a melting pot of Berber, Arab and European influences perched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert, in the far north western corner of Africa. More than anywhere it captures the spirit of North Africa; the smell of incense in the narrow labyrinths of the ancient souks in cities such as Marrakech,,verdant Berber oases and the rolling golden dunes of the Sahara. By joining a Childreach International Challenge Event team for Atlas Ascent, you have the chance to explore the rocky gorges and high altitude settlements that have populated this area for centuries, where the local way of life has been virtually unchanged in a once in a lifetime challenge. In addition to the experience of a charity trek, participants will also have the option to extend their stay in Morocco to travel independently and discover local culture.

Fundraising target

The minimum fundraising target to take in Atlas Ascent is only £ 1200. Not only will you get to take part in the trip of a lifetime but you'll also make a huge difference to hundreds of children's lives.

Please be aware that some of your fundraising money will be spent on your expenses, though on average, across expeditions, over half will go directly to Childreach International projects around the world. There is also a non-refundable initial registration fee of £245 required.

With hundreds of volunteers taking part every year, Childreach International is dedicated to doing everything it can for you. Not only are all of your flights, transfers, accommodation and trekking costs absorbed but we also provide experienced group leaders to help you through every step of the challenge and a comprehensive fundraising support network.
