Who can get involved?

Anyone over 16! This project is about helping where you can. We always plan our Futurebuilding projects with a wide range of activities for everyone to get involved; those less keen on the heavy duties usually take up the lighter, but equally important, work such as painting and plastering.

A vital part of Futurebuilding is to ensure that the work is carried out in partnership with the local community, so we make sure there are local skilled trades' people on hand to tackle the tricky bits and as long as you are reasonably fit and enjoy a challenge then Futurebuilding is for you.

When and where are the projects happening?

Our projects normally last 10 days, this is to ensure the community gets the most out of us whilst we are there. We have projects taking place all year round in several different countries.

How much does it cost?

We ask that everyone who registers to take part in a Futurebuilding project make an initial non-refundable donation of £220. This is to secure a place. Once you have registered you will need to raise a minimum of £2000 at least six weeks prior to departure.

This is all part of the challenge and we have had thousands of people who have successfully met this target, and some have even raised double that amount! Often you will have a volunteer group leader, who will be able to support you in your fundraising and may organise group fundraising events in which you can take part.

Part of the money you raise will be used to pay for the costs of your chosen project and the remaining amount will be used to ensure that Childreach International can continue to help thousands of other children around the world to escape poverty.

Where does the money I raise go?

Providing you have submitted your minimum sponsorship amount prior to the deadline, Childreach International will use your fundraised amount to pay for:

  • Return flight ticket
  • All accommodation during your chosen project
  • All airport transfers and transport to/from the site of your chosen project
  • All meals, snacks and drinking water for duration of project
  • A commemorative Futurebuilding certificate
  • Fundraising material and support
  • Donation towards the project and other Childreach International work.
