Children in the developing world are among those most affected by climate change, yet they are the least responsible for the problem. Climate change affects children's education, health and their futures'. Childreach International works to limit the extent of climate change and protect children from its impacts.

The climate challenge

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. Children in the developing world are up to ten times more likely to be affected by environmental disasters linked to climate change.

What we're doing

Childreach International works in partnership with project partners to implement projects that minimise the effects of climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, help communities adapt to a changing climate. Our projects work with communities to provide children with access to education, improved health and greater child rights and protection.

We provide East African communities with access to renewable energy technologies, we provide schools with energy efficient cook stoves, protecting precious ecosystems as well as reforesting degraded land, protecting communities from climate related disasters such as flooding or landslides.

Millennium Development Goals

Each of our projects is designed to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

"Children are not responsible for climate change, but are the most likely to feel its effects and are the least prepared to deal with them."
